How birthday freebies work

Brands give birthday rewards through their loyalty programs. You create a free account, add your birth date, and the reward is loaded automatically when the date comes. There is no coupon to hunt for and nothing to buy up front.

The catch is timing. Starbucks wants you in at least 7 days ahead, Denny's 7 to 30, Krispy Kreme about a month, and Dunkin' and Chipotle only count birthdays saved before the month starts. That is why the reminder above sends the checklist one month ahead.

Each reward has its own window: one day for Starbucks Green members, three days at Dunkin', the whole month at Sephora, Ulta and Denny's, thirty days at Krispy Kreme, and points that never expire at Jersey Mike's. When a brand has its own page here, it says exactly how long you have.

How we check this list

  1. The list starts from eight public directories (The Freebie Guy, Slickdeals, Birthday Hunter, Hey It's Free, Cozymeal and others), merged and de-duplicated brand by brand.
  2. Brand by brand, we read the program's own page and record four things: what you get, when you must have joined, how long it is valid and whether a purchase is required. Those brands get the "Checked" badge and a link to the official page. Each brand page says whether we read the official page directly or, when the brand blocks automated reading, relied on published quotes of it.
  3. Brands we have not checked yet show "Listed by" with the tracker's name, so you know the difference.
  4. We re-check monthly. Last review: Sep 7, 2026. If your app shows something different from this page, the app wins; programs change without notice.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to buy something to get a birthday freebie?

Most of them are free with a loyalty account: you join, add your birth date and the reward shows up on your birthday. A few require a small purchase, and some (Starbucks, Jersey Mike's) need one purchase during the year before. Each brand page says which.

When do I need to sign up?

Before your birthday. Starbucks needs 7 days, Denny's 7 to 30, Jersey Mike's 8 to 14, Krispy Kreme about 4 weeks, and several programs only count members whose birthday was on file before the birthday month started. Signing up on the day is usually too late for that year.

Is the reward valid on the day or the whole month?

It depends on the brand. Starbucks Green members get one day, Sephora and Ulta the whole month, Denny's the month for dine-in, Dunkin' three days around the birthday, Jersey Mike's gives points that never expire. Each brand page tells you exactly how long you have.

How do you know these are real?

Every offer comes from the brand's own rewards program. The list is compiled from eight public directories (The Freebie Guy, Slickdeals, Birthday Hunter, Hey It's Free and others) and, brand by brand, we check the rules against the program's official page: sign-up deadline, validity window, purchase requirement. Brands with a "Checked" badge have been through that; last review 2026-09-07.
