Active duty only, including Reserve components (Ready Reserve, National Guard, Reservists in training) and cadets of the service academies and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Spouses and eligible immediate dependents get 10% and do not need to be accompanied. Retirees and veterans are explicitly NOT covered: the Zoo says it offers no discount to them and refers them to their MWR Ticket Office. Civilians and foreign military personnel are not included.

Active duty U.S. Armed Forces personnel get complimentary admission to the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Active duty spouses and eligible immediate dependents get 10% off the 1-Day Pass Any Day at both parks.

Limits and exclusions
Special ticketed events or programs are not included. Active duty who cannot present a valid ID at arrival must buy non-refundable admission; no retroactive refunds. All guests age 3+ accompanying an active duty member need their own ticket or membership.
