Who qualifies for the YouTube Premium student discount
Students enrolled at a higher education institution that SheerID has approved, in one of the countries where the student membership is offered. Whether your school qualifies is decided by SheerID, and you can check by typing your school into the SheerID form.
How to verify YouTube Premium’s student discount
- 1Verify once with SheerIDGo to youtube.com/premium/student/inapp (or /musicpremium/student/inapp) and complete verification with SheerID. If you are not verified straight away you upload documents for manual review; in the US you hear back within about 20 minutes, elsewhere up to 48 hours.

Limits and exclusions
If you already pay for another YouTube membership you must cancel it before signing up as a student. Only one student plan per person, and the family plan cannot be combined with it.
